A few weeks back YOCRYPTO came across a crypto based product that really grabbed our attention for it's originality.

Take a look at some of their unique designs!
We wanted to know a little bit about the inspiration behing the idea and how Yakpimp got involved with crypto currencies.
I've been involved in crypto since the beginning of the year. What got me into it honestly was Dogecoin. One night I was up late and had a little extra cash in my Paypal account. I bought some Doge and a few weeks later it was worth half as much. Any normal person would think... "Well I guess this isn't for me.", but not me. I started mining and was hooked. Watching the coins add up was like a drug. I was constantly tweaking and checking on my rig remotely. My wife thinks I'm crazy, but it's a hobby that makes me happy, and in my crazy life that is all I'm looking for. |
Cryptochips.net sells super high quality crypto themed poker chips. They can be used as a physical token of your love of crypto. Many people carry them around in their pockets as good luck charms. I personally keep a couple on my desk to play with while I'm thinking and as conversation starters for people coming in my office.
I have been selling single chips, but I'm starting to get into custom sets now. So you could play poker with your friends using Dogecoin or Bitcoin. My first sets have come out great and I can't wait to get them in front of more people. The chips need to be held to really appreciate the quality.

How did you hear about crypto currencies? What was it that grabbed your interest?
'I'm pretty sure I saw a post from r/dogecoin hit the front page on reddit, and that got me looking into it. I've dabbled in other coins a bit since then, but it was what started this whole thing." |
How have you implemented crypto currencies into your organization?
Well my entire business is about selling chips that have crypto logos on them.
Early on in my crypto journey I made some deals to trade Doge for dollars, and ended up getting scammed, which opened my eyes to the types of people who take advantage of a great and growing community.
I decided at that moment that my site would only accept crypto currency, and never Paypal or any other form of payment. I started off only accepting Dogecoin and Bitcoin, but recently have expanded to other coins like Pinkcoin, Reddcoin, and even Syscoin.

How has the response from
your customers been?
Any issues with payment processing?

Any issues with payment processing?
| Customers are constantly coming back and ordering more chips once they get the first set they ordered. They are impressed by the quality and detail on each chip. My payment system is mostly seemless. You place an order and choose your payment type. The website then presents you with a unqiue payment address just for you and a status link. Once you make your payment the status link will show as paid, and I'll get notified there is an order to process. |
I think it's a pretty clean system. Every once in a while we will hit a small hickup, but no coins have ever been lost or even temporarily misplaced.
Have you received customers unrelated to crypto currencies come to inquire about crypto currencies?
"I wouldn't say they were unrelated to crypto, but I have had customers ask me to make custom chips that weren't directly crypto. Maybe a face on the coin for a bachelor party, or just as a joke for their boss." |
Fluctuations in price don't tend to have a large affect on CryptoChips.net. I try to keep the prices that I charge updated to reflect the $3 chip charge.
It is possible that a custom gets a chip one day for $2.75 due a drop, but I'm not trying to get rich off of this. I love seeing the posts on social media about my chips and it makes all the work worth it. Pretty much every dollar that I've made has gone into buying more inventory. I'm surrounded by chips and even my son asks if he can help me with my Dogecoin poker chips.

Will you continue to use crypto currencies in the future personally, and as a business?
Final thoughts?
Suggestions for businesses considering adopting crypto currencies?
This past weekend my parents were in town and asked about the thousands of poker chips on the dining room table. I spent a good hour trying to explain crypto and what I was doing. It's scary how limited the populations knowledge on the subject really is.
Even after explaining it I was unable to clearly explain how it all worked and what these poker chips had to do with it at all. I managed to confuse them, and later on that night I found my mom reading about Bitcoin. So I guess my efforts were successful.
I hope that my chips can start more conversations like that. Get people talking about crypto currencies that would normally never need to or want to. That's how it's going to become mainstream.
